Joyce was one of the most fun and warm hearted surrogate mothers I’ve ever had. Lasting memories are of not being able to use the downstairs toilet when it had been cleaned ‘ready for guests’ 😳 and turning a blind eye to shifting bedroom arrangements after lights-out so we could all pretend we stayed in our single sex rooms. 😄
Joyce and George played a huge role in showing me how families could be and encouraging me to reconnect with my own after several difficult years. 40 years on she’s still an inspiration.
